1. Chemical - Actually Dry Ice is Carbon Dioxide - a gas at room temperature. If you leave Dry Ice out it changes into a gas, but it is still Carbon Dioxide. (To turn it back into ice, it has to be compressed.) http://www.continentalcarbonic.com/dryice
